Mulat Pinoy Kabataan News Network

Mulat Pinoy-Kabataan News Network (MP-KNN) is a youth media initiative that provides young people with relevant information on development issues and the opportunities to create multimedia materials on those issues. The program involves initiatives like a website, multimedia content creation, social media community, and offline activities such as youth forums, media training workshops, and contests.

Themes have revolved around population and development, science communication, health, disaster risk reduction, human and children's rights, gender, mental health, abuse, and other concerns.

The project began in 2003 where Youth from all over the Philippines were trained in video documentary production, and their products air over national television. The "Kabataan News Network" and "Kabataan X-Press" involved children from ten provinces all over the Philippines. The pioneering program was the first time young people were given a chance to write, shoot, direct, and conceptualize their own stories for the television medium.

UNICEF and other partners supported this project from 2003 to 2008. The Philippine Center for Population and Development supported the project from 2010 to 2016. Other agencies have supported MP-KNN initiatives, providing training and media production opportunities for children and young people.

This is an ongoing program.
