Stopping Child Labor in Mindanao through Advocacy Writing

Writing Engaging and Impactful Advocacy Materials to Combat Child Labor in Mindanao

Over 50 participants joined PMFI's three-part online workshop on writing advocacy materials last May 13, 20, and 27, 2022. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other partners in Davao del Norte, Cotabato, and Bukidnon attended sessions and gained hands-on training on writing articles, creating posters and infographics, and writing video scripts on eliminating child labor and promoting acceptable conditions of work for children in crop agriculture in Mindanao.

Our resource persons were journalist and content producer, Jay Orense (Writing Advocacy Articles), Digital Communications Specialist, Guillermo Ocampo (Writing for visuals and infographics), and documentary filmmaker/producer/writer/editor, Kristoffer "Tops" Brugada (Video Scriptwriting).  Jay, Guill, and Tops delivered lectures during the sessions and also spent time checking and reviewing materials created by the participants to provide detailed constructive feedback.

The training is supported by ChildFund Philippines under the Building Capacity, Advocacy, Awareness, and Programs of CSOs (BuildCA2P) on Child Labor project.
