Apply for the Nagbabagang Kuwento Media Fellowship Cycle 5

The Nagbabagang Kuwento: Covering a Smoke Free Ph Media Fellowship Cycle 5 is a program that provides media practitioners with the opportunity and support to produce media stories that are focused on tobacco control and contribute to the discourse on a smoke-free Philippine environment. The program has been implemented by the Probe Media Foundation Inc. (PMFI) since 2016 with the support of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK). Filipino journalists and media practitioners working in print, television, radio, online/multimedia, podcasting, audio and video production (freelance or employed) are invited to apply for support for stories that have a focus on the many concerns related to the Philippine smoke-free environment. This may relate to health, regulations and policies (smoke-free bill), lifestyle, nature and environment, education, youth, business, economy, COVID-19, and other aspects.

Join Our Media Skills Survey

PMFI launched a study entitled "Probing the Key Skills of the 21st Century Pinoy Media Practitioner." We hope to identify the essential competencies and attributes needed by beginning journalists and media practitioners to work and survive in today's media environment. The study is based on the Poynter Institute for Media Studies "Future of Journalists Competencies Survey" and "Core Skills for the Future Journalist" by Finberg and Klinger (2014). PMFI hopes to use the results to contribute to further conversations towards the creation of innovative interventions that prepare aspiring media practitioners for a future career in the profession. We seek respondents who work, teach, or study in media and communication-related fields. The survey is for Filipino journalists, content creators, communication officers, media and communication teachers, and students enrolled in media and communication courses. We invite you to respond to our online questionnaire.
