New Media Workshop for the Youth: Social Networth (Application deadline Dec 31)
College students and youth aged 15 to 20 are invited to participate in Social NetWorth: Mulat Pinoy training workshop for college students, focusing on the use of new media and transmedia strategies for communications and advocacy. The workshop will take place on February 24-27, 2012, with experts and facilitators from the academe and a variety of media-related industries. This workshop is free. Probe Forum Series: Emerging Media, Role of Bloggers, Citizen Journalists and Media
In cooperation with the US Embassy of the Philippines, the "Emerging Media Forum: Role of Bloggers, Citizen Journalists, Online and Mainstream Media Practitioners" will be held in Manila (Aug 9), Cebu (Aug 12) and Davao (Aug 14). The forum is for media practitioners, bloggers and online media persons. It hopes to discuss and examine the role of citizen journalists and contribution to mainstream media, as well as ethics and responsibilities involved. The guest speaker is Mr. Andrew Haeg, a specialist on participatory media, citizen journalism, business and economics journalism, journalism innovation, design thinking and social media. To allow more people to join the “We Are Right Here. We Are RH.” Video Contest, Mulat Pinoy is extending the deadline for submissions to OCTOBER 15, 2011. Young people aged 25 years and below are invited to join this video contest on reproductive health. Entries can discuss anything regarding reproductive health: the controversial RH Bill, maternal and child care, teenage pregnancy, virginity, condoms, pills, sexually-transmitted disease, family planning, child spacing, sex myths and misconceptions.

Media Fellowship on Reporting on Indigenous Peoples
“Kuwentong Katutubo - Spotlight on Indigenous Peoples: A Fellowship for Philippine Media Practitioners” or “Spotlight of IPs” is a fellowship program for Filipino print and photojournalists, television and radio broadcasters from various parts of the Philippines. Through a fellowship program, a select number of committed media practitioners are given the training on proper reportage on the rights, challenges and issues of ethnic minorities or indigenous peoples and given the opportunity to create media outputs on the topic. |
